The Labor Inspectorate has stopped 321 dangerous workplaces  - 1

In 2.5 months of intensive inspections of construction sites, the General Labor Inspectorate has applied the measure of stopping sites, workplaces and facilities 321 times and has suspended 10 workers - 5 for lack of legal capacity and 5 for failure to comply with the rules for safe work.

The measure is of a preventive nature to prevent serious occupational accidents, and in some cases saves human lives.

At the end of January, the Labor Inspectorate began an extraordinary campaign of inspections in the construction sector. Out of a total of 10,500 violations found - 8 thousand are related to safe working conditions.

The most frequently found violations are the lack or formal conduct of daily safety briefings. Another group of problems identified are those related to safety when working at height, lack of personal protective equipment, unsecured openings - such as elevator shafts and windows, improperly constructed scaffolding, uncleaned platforms, which creates a risk of tripping, falling and injury.

331 workers were caught working without a contract out of 914 identified in all sectors for the first three months of the year.

58 foreigners were identified working without a valid residence document in the country or with regular documents, but without the employer having submitted a written notification of commencement of work to the General Labor Inspectorate.

Delayed wages were identified in the amount of over 1 million leva, and after the intervention of labor inspectors, almost 817 thousand leva were paid.
