There is a new case of a child sick with meningococcal infection in a Sofia kindergarten. This is a small child who has been admitted for treatment at the Ivan Mitev Pediatric Hospital.
"He is well and is responding to the treatment," said the director of the Ivan Mitev Pediatric Hospital, Dr. Blagomir Zdravkov, to "24 Chasa".
The child is in the second group in one of the Sofia kindergartens.
On Tuesday, the Sofia Regional Health Institute took samples from all children who attend the kindergarten, as well as from the staff. This is over 200 samples. The results are expected to be released next week.
All parents of children attending the kindergarten have been notified and instructions have been given.
"At the moment there is no reason to worry", reassured the director of SRZI, Dr. Dancho Penchev.
