Employees of the “Economic Police“ department – SDVR revealed the theft of the amount of 400,000 euros.
On April 22, a signal was received about a Bulgarian citizen who, during negotiations for the sale of companies managed by him, showed the amount of 400,000 euros to a representative of the buyer. Minutes later, it was discovered that, taking advantage of his inattention, with great agility the woman who was supposed to see the money had replaced the package with the indicated amount of money with a package of white papers.
During the immediate operational-search actions carried out, the perpetrator – a 54-year-old Romanian citizen was identified and detained. It was clarified that the lady had been prepared in advance to hide the money, carrying a textile bag with a cut-out hole, hidden under her clothes.
During the course of the procedural and investigative actions, the stolen amount was found. It was included in the materials of the pre-trial proceedings initiated under Art. 195 of the Criminal Code. After a report of the materials at the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, the detainee was imposed a measure of “Detention in custody“ for a period of up to 72 hours.
