Most recently, the Chinese car manufacturer BYD Co. will sign a contract with the Turkish authorities for the construction of a plant, the investment of which amounts to EUR 1 billion. It will be built in the province of Manisa, informs ag. Bloomberg, citing its sources.
The place is not chosen randomly. The plant in neighboring Turkey will make it significantly easier for the Chinese company to market electric cars in European Union countries, with which our southern neighbor has a customs agreement.
Turkey is also interested in Chinese electric cars. In 2023, 7.5% of transactions were with this type of car.
