One of the Bulgarians accused by Britain of spying for Russia used a fake Interpol service card and a bulletproof vest. 43-year-old Biser Dzhambazov has already pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him, but his two girlfriends, Katrin Ivanova and Vanya Gaberova, with whom he carried out some of the espionage operations, refuse to do so, Nova TV reported.
Gaberova told the court that while she and Dzhambazov were monitoring investigative journalist Hristo Grozev in Spain - she thought they were on vacation. The two were staying in a 5-star hotel and visiting luxury restaurants. She admitted that she fell victim to Dzhambazov's charm when he promised to make her a police officer, which was her childhood dream that she failed to fulfill in Bulgaria. According to her, the two met during the 2021 elections, when they were members of the SIC in London.
