A 15-year-old youth with a positive alcohol test and no license crashed into a car with a truck in Kocherinovo, reports Nova TV.
Monday, 7.30 in the morning. Like every weekday, preparations for school are in full swing in Stella Velinova's family house. The children in the family gather from the floors and wait for their grandfather to take them to school and kindergarten. And when the group walks from the yard to the car, a squeal of tires and a loud bang are heard from outside. A 15-year-old youth from Barakovo crashes into the car, which the children were supposed to get into just seconds later. “I went out and saw that he got out of the car and started running through the fields“, says the grandfather.
The impact was on the back of the car, very close to the place in the trunk where the gas system is placed. “My great grandson told me that they had hit the car. When I went outside, I saw that the boy was running, we shouted at him to stop. The car is broken, I don't know who will hire to fix it. It's a good thing that the gas bottle in the back of the trunk didn't explode and my grandchildren hadn't gone to school“, points out eyewitness Stella Velinova.
The car was moving at high speed, the driver probably tried to drift after a 90-degree turn, but lost control and the impact followed, during which his car - a truck - was lifted on two tires to the side of the road. “He ran away through the snow, but then the police brought him in and explained that it wasn't him. How could it not be you, admit it! I have nothing against the boy, but he should be careful. I've had two boys too, but they were white… and since he was 15. He was also drunk, you could see how he was shaking. I have no words“, she adds.
The police immediately do a breathalyzer test. The result - the young man has 1.59 per mille of alcohol in his blood. “They did a test, we sat outside for a long time. He didn't admit it, it's good that the neighbor has two cameras and gave the recordings. They show him running through the field, he lives in Barakovo“, explains Velinova.
The 15-year-old's grandmother is at home. In the yard is the car from the accident. It was always left there, unlocked, with the keys always in the dashboard, just in case. The young man took the car without its owner - his uncle - knowing. "The bus was driven drunk. He works at the bakery and studies. I don't know when he was driving, but they'll probably take him to court," said the young man's grandmother Emilia.
The woman explained that she knew that the 15-year-old had been drinking alcohol recently. And she was also pleased that the damage after her grandson's execution was only material. "He got in the car drunk, he's my grandson and I can't help but get angry," she said.
So far, there is no evidence that the young man has committed similar acts. “It's the first time it's happened to him, the car is driving for the first time“, Emilia is categorical.
“I have nothing against young people, but they should drive carefully. The neighborhood is full of children. Why do they do this? What if the worst had happened? Who will be responsible? He drank all night and then…. It's good that it's a small problem“, added Velinova.
