A British centenarian celebrated his 108th birthday and revealed the surprising secret of longevity related to clothes, writes "What's the Jam?"
Frank Chester was born on April 10, 1917 and is the sixth oldest person to have lived in Britain. During World War II, he served on the battleship "Honeysuckle", which was tasked with protecting submarines and convoys. In 2024, Chester shared that the secret to his longevity was his faith in God, but now he has decided to reveal another small reason for his long life.
"I always put on my pants while sitting down. If I did it right, I would fall over," the Briton joked.
After the war, Chester moved to Walsall, West Midlands, where he met actress Lily. "After a month and a half, we decided we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. "Lily was the best thing that ever happened to me," the former sailor recalled.
Chester is very popular with the staff and residents of the care home in Worcestershire, where he has lived in recent years. Manager Shelley Ford said the veteran has many stories to share with others.
