Armand Duplantis set a new shepherd's jump world record - 1

Olympic champion Armand Duplantis (Sweden) improved his own shepherd's jump world record, achieving 6.24 meters in the first competition of the Diamond League for the 2024 season in Xiamen (China), reports BTA.

Duplantis, who is also a four-time world and three-time European No.1 outdoor and indoor, bettered his previous best of 6.23m set at the Eugene Diamond League final in September 2023, clearing the bar with ease as early as your first attempt.

For the Swede, this is the eighth correction of the world record.

US-born Duplantis, 24, started the event at 5.62m, also cleared 5.82m and 6.00m without foul before setting the new best. He is the favorite for a second Olympic title in Paris 2024. American Sam Hendricks finished second with 5.82 meters, and third was Bokai Huang (China) with 5.72.
