The former president of Levski Thomas Lafchis believes that despite the strong start to the season, the "blues" must play their players before fighting for a title.

The president of Levski in the 1990s hopes that the separation from Stanislav Genchev will have a positive impact on the team.

"I assume that the sports and technical management has reasons for the separation from Genchev. It is difficult for a coach to achieve what he wants within 2-3 months. I hope this decision will be positive. There were good matches. There were drops in the results, which is a serious club that advertises that it will fight for the championship. We are not ready for a championship title. The squad must play its part and the players must be permanent. There are good Bulgarian coaches. A foreigner will bring more authority to the locker room," he shared in an interview for the show "Arena Sport".

The former Levski goalkeeper believes that the club should recruit players from the academy.

"Levski has a good academy and should rely on its own players. In Bulgaria, it is much easier to take players from abroad by the kilo. Foreign players do not know the history of the clubs. Levski and CSKA mean nothing to them. With its own players, it is much less likely," the businessman added.

Lafchis is skeptical about the construction of a new stadium.

"I am a skeptic. A stadium costs a lot of money. The state should intervene here. The big problem is that there is no money for sports. Without the help of the state, large and large-scale projects are difficult to build. These stadiums will remain for generations," added the resident of Sofia.

The businessman also shared his observations on Ludogorets and CSKA.

"As long as Levski and CSKA are in this state, they will not be able to compete with Ludogorets. It is unlikely that Cherno More and Botev Plovdiv can do it. Ludogorets has built a wonderful base and has a management team of influential people. They allow themselves players that others cannot afford. Aleksandar Tomas is a good specialist, he has shown that he can and knows how. We need patience with him too. They have good players. With the new owners, they will find a synchronicity with him," believes Lafchis.
