Botev (Plovdiv) finished 1:1 at home to Arda (Kardzhali) in a match from the 24th round of the championship. Thus, the “canaries” remain without a win since the beginning of the spring part of the championship. Ivelin Popov gave Dushan Kerkez's team an advantage with a goal in the third minute, but at the end of the match Chinonso Ofor (left) equalized from a penalty awarded for a foul on Atanas Chernev.
Already in the third minute, the “canaries” launched a quick attack from the right, in which Ehicze Ukaki found the uncovered Ivelin Popov on the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was blocked and the ball went out for a corner. After his performance, the “yellow-blacks” took the lead in the score. Baloyannis crossed to the near post, where Atanas Chernev headed towards Popov and the home team captain scored in the net for 1:0. The guests tried to respond in the 11th minute, when Borislav Tsonev broke free and shot from about 20 meters, but wide of the target.
In the 17th minute, Dusan Kerkez's players scored a second goal. Alexa Marash scored with a tight shot from the edge of the penalty area. However, the goal was disallowed after the video refereeing system intervened due to Samuel Akere being offside during the attack.
Four minutes after the restart of play in the second half, the home team were close to scoring again. After a quick counterattack, Popov excellently brought Samuel Akere alone against Gospodinov, but the Nigerian winger was in a hurry and the visitors' goalkeeper closed his corner to make a decisive intervention.
In the 62nd minute, Alexander Tunchev's team came up with its first accurate shot. Stanislav Ivanov crossed from the right to Chinonso Ofor, who headed the ball precisely into the lower left corner of Hans Christian Bernat. However, Botev's guard stretched as far as possible and managed to clear it for a corner.
In the 68th minute, the “yellow-blacks” quickly transferred the game to the opponent's half, where Akere combined with Ukaki and he shot without delay, but the ball went over the crossbar.
In the 81st minute, the visitors from Kardzhali were given the right to take a penalty. Atanas Chernev was late in a duel with Chinonso Ofor and fouled him, and the chief referee Ventsislav Mitrev pointed to the penalty spot. The injured Arda striker took the lead with the execution and was flawless to equalize the score – 1:1.
