George Russell has named the favorites in Formula 1 in Bahrain

George Russell (Mercedes) believes that the team's main battle this weekend in Bahrain will be against Red Bull and Ferrari, not against McLaren. “We expected McLaren to be a step ahead of everyone else – explained Russell, who recorded the third time in the second practice session, while in the first one his car was driven by Frederic Vesti. – McLaren are much faster than us in the second sector, where the tires start to overheat. We have work to do, but we can fight for second place“.

“Ferrari also looked very good in Friday practice, but they couldn't get through the last sector properly. We will fight with Ferrari and Max, but I don't know who will come out on top“, added the pilot.

Russell was confident that qualifying would not have much impact on the outcome of the race, and that the decisive factors would be the racing pace, as well as the wear of the tires.
