Specialists working in the field of maintenance of automotive air conditioning systems are of the opinion that the temperature thresholds when turning on the system must be observed, with the lower one being particularly important.
In this order, they do not recommend using the air conditioner in the car at sub-zero temperatures. It is preferable to use the air conditioner in the car at temperatures not lower than +5 °C, experts explain.
The operation of air conditioners in cars in winter, and more specifically - at sub-zero temperatures, can lead to damage to the compressor.
On the other hand, however, experts recommend turning on the air conditioner for preventive maintenance once a week for 15 minutes. But if the weather is very cold, this should only be done in a heated garage. For those who do not have one, it is recommended to use the indoor heated parking lots in malls, for example.
