The Russian army is also attacking the energy infrastructure of Ukraine this night, at this stage only with drones. 9 of the 12 drones launched in the Ukrainian regions were shot down by air defense. The drones were shot down over the Kherson, Odesa, Dniproetrov and Poltava regions.

The Russian army attacked from Cape Chauda, Crimea. In addition to drones, four S-300/S-400 missiles were also fired at the Donetsk region.

Moscow has stepped up its bombing of Ukraine in recent weeks, targeting energy infrastructure in response to deadly Ukrainian attacks on Russia's border regions.

As a result of the attacks this morning in Ukraine, emergency power cuts had to be introduced in some regions. President Volodymyr Zelensky called the Russian attacks "energy terrorism" and the United Nations described them as illegal.

According to the Ukrainian authorities, the Zmiiv Thermal Power Plant in the Kharkiv Region was completely destroyed as a result of the massive Russian strike on March 22. Then the hydroelectric plant in Dnieper was also seriously damaged. Then, on the night of March 29, Russian attacks targeted hydropower facilities in Chertkaska and Chernivtsi regions, as well as such facilities in Dnipropetrovsk region.

And in its analysis of recent days, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports a change in the tactics of the Kremlin, which has expanded the range of targets of its attacks on objects critical to Ukraine's infrastructure. The increase in attacks on power plants is likely targeted as a blow to Ukraine's military-industrial potential.
