The Israeli army today recommended that residents of twenty-two villages in southern Lebanon evacuate to territory north of a river Awali, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
This is stated in a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Israel launched last week a ground operation in Lebanese territory aimed at the Lebanese Shia group "Hezbollah", which since October 7 last year - with the outbreak of the conflict in the Gaza Strip - has been shelling northern Israel across the border in solidarity with the Islamist Palestinian movement "Hamas".
