Israeli Air Force planes broke the sound barrier twice over Beirut, causing sounds reminiscent of bomb explosions.
Israeli fighter jets appeared in the sky over Beirut from the Mediterranean, flying over the city and its southern outskirts at low altitude. Earlier, Israeli pilots broke the sound barrier over Saida, located 50 km south of Beirut. They simulated an attack on the city, which caused panic among its inhabitants.
During the night, the Israeli Air Force bombed the suburbs of Beirut at least eight times, destroying several buildings in the Kafaat neighborhood and the El-Hadas suburb. Most residents left these areas at the end of September.
