Flooding at Barcelona's El Prat International Airport: Over 50 flights canceled - 1

Barcelona's El Prat International Airport was flooded, and over 50 flights have been cancelled, Reuters reported, citing BTV.

The flooding is the result of the strong storm in the area. 17 flights scheduled to land at El Prat on Monday morning (November 4) have been diverted to alternative airports, airport operator Aena announced on its profile on the “X“ platform.

On November 4, rain and hail lashed the Barcelona region in eastern Spain, less than a week after the country's worst flash floods killed at least 217 people in the Valencia region, 300 km to the south.

Mobile phones in Barcelona issued a warning of “extreme and prolonged rainfall” on the southern outskirts of the city. The warning urged people to avoid areas of bodies of water, rivers, canals and ravines.
