The involvement of the citizen of Uzbekistan Akhmadjon Kurbonov, who was arrested in the case of the murder of the chief of the troops for radiation, chemical and biological protection of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Igor Kirilov and his adjutant, is confirmed by the testimonies of witnesses, TASS reported.

Kurbonov is accused of committing especially serious crimes, for which the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation provides for life imprisonment.

He was detained on December 18 and the same day he was charged, one of which is "terrorist attack".

In addition to witness testimony, his involvement in the crime is indicated by inspections of the crime scene, items, documents and other evidence.

On December 19, a Moscow court sent Kurbonov to custody until February 17, 2025. The court considered that the information and documents presented by the investigation were convincing, and their totality was sufficient to conclude that the accused, remaining at large, could commit actions aimed at obstructing the proceedings.

Kurbonov has no previous convictions, is married, has two minors and three minor children.

It was estimated that with a lighter measure of detention, he could contact members of a criminal group to develop a coordinated position to avoid criminal liability.

According to documents available to TASS, the general and his adjutant died instantly. At least 15 cars parked near the entrance to the building were also damaged.
