The list of Palestinian prisoners to be released as part of the deal with Israel will be published the day before the exchange, according to a statement by the radical Hamas movement published on its Telegram channel.
According to the text, “the mechanism for releasing hostages depends on the number of prisoners“ that Israel will release. Hamas stressed that "the lists will be published before each day of the exchange as part of an agreed mechanism."
The Times of Israel previously reported that the Israeli Justice Ministry had published a new list of Palestinian prisoners to be released during the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
According to it, the new list, published after the Israeli government approved the ceasefire agreement, includes the names of more than 700 Palestinian prisoners, including those serving sentences for terrorism and murder. The ministry's statement said that the first batch of prisoners scheduled to be released as part of the Gaza deal will be released on Sunday, January 19, at 4:00 p.m. local time.
