On Wednesday, US prosecutors dropped a criminal case against two aides to President Donald Trump for allegedly helping to obstruct an investigation into Trump's mishandling of classified documents, a court filing cited by "Reuters" showed.
The two, Trump's personal valet Walt Nauta and property manager Carlos De Oliveira, did not object to the prosecutor's decision, according to the filing.
The move marks the end of two prosecutions of Trump by special counsel Jack Smith, who resigned from the Justice Department earlier this month before Trump returned to office.
On Tuesday, the administration Trump has fired dozens of Justice Department officials who worked on the criminal cases against him.
Back in November, Smith's office decided to end its work on the two pending federal criminal cases against Trump, because the Justice Department's long-standing position is that it cannot charge a sitting president with a crime.
