Russia is ready to hold direct negotiations with the authorities in Kiev without preconditions, despite the problems with the legitimacy of Volodymyr Zelensky, said Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia at a meeting of the Security Council on Ukraine, convened at the request of Western countries.
The head of the Russian diplomatic mission noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced a ceasefire in May as another step towards peace.
„We expect that the Ukrainian side will follow our example. Such a step could become a prelude to direct peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine without preconditions, for which we are ready, despite the existing problem with the legitimacy of the head of the Kiev regime,“ he said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on the Ukrainian issue.
"Zelensky irresponsibly rejects the US peace proposals because he is interested in covering up the crimes committed," Nebenzya continued.
„Yesterday, the Ukrainian leadership officially confirmed its involvement in the murder of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk, and the Secretary of the Rada Security Committee Kostenko, commenting on it, stated that such methods will remain in the arsenal of Ukrainian special services even after the end of the war, I quote, „for the next 10, 20, 30 years, as long as necessary", end of quote.
This is yet another proof of the criminal, treacherous nature of the Kiev regime, whose leader is exclusively interested in saving his own skin and covering up the crimes he has committed against his own people.
Therefore, contrary to the aspirations of the Ukrainians, he is focused on escalating the conflict and irresponsibly rejecting the balanced peace proposals of the United States,“ the diplomat emphasized.
The actions of North Korea and the DPRK and Russia during the liberation of Russian territory are fully consistent with international law, noted the permanent representative of Russia to the UN.
„The DPRK units took the most active part in the liberation of Russian territory. At the same time, Moscow and Pyongyang acted in full accordance with international law, in particular with Article 4 of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty of June 19, 2024, which provides for immediate military assistance in the event of an armed attack on one of the parties,“ he said.
“We are extremely grateful to our Korean brothers, their exploits and courage will forever remain in the memory of our people.
