On the death of the Russian economy and negotiations with the US: Igor Yakovenko said what will happen in Ukraine - 1

Russian oppositionist Igor Yakovenko said that rumors about the death of the Russian economy are exaggerated and Vladimir Putin has the resources to wage war against Ukraine for several more years, OBOZ.UA reported.

Despite the fact that Putin is not a very educated and intelligent person, he can assess the state of Russia and its armed forces. The problem is that rumors about the death of the Russian economy are exaggerated, and the dictator has enough cannon fodder for several more years of war, the Russian journalist said.

Putin understands perfectly well that ending the war is much more dangerous for him than continuing it, Igor Yakovenko pointed out, according to whom the Russian president has enough money to wage war for several more years.

According to Yakovenko, Putin does not have the strength to make a decisive breakthrough on the front or capture a large Ukrainian city, but he can continue the war indefinitely. And that suits him perfectly.

As for his position on the negotiations, Putin really needs a meeting with US President Donald Trump. The Russian president really wants to be in the same frame with Trump, to present himself as an arbiter who, together with the US, divides the world. But as for real negotiations to stop the war, Putin is not interested in that, the Russian oppositionist said.

A few days ago, Trump called on OPEC to lower oil prices, which would hurt Russia's oil revenues and thus the Kremlin's ability to wage war against Ukraine. According to Yakovenko, however, Trump does not have the leverage to force OPEC countries to do this. "They make money from this oil. The position of Saudi Arabia and other OPEC countries is that they are not ready to agree to Trump's proposal," Yakovenko also said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the political approach of his American counterpart Donald Trump, saying that the recently inaugurated American head of state "will restore order" in the European elite, Reuters reported. Putin said this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, broadcast yesterday by the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK). The Russian president said that Trump will restore order in American relations with the European elite, which he said favored former President Joe Biden.
