There are serious problems with aircraft construction in the Russian Federation due to sanctions. They are not able to produce high-quality strategic aircraft at all, and if they produce other types of aircraft, then these are only units, said Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, on the air of Espresso.
He commented on the recent announcement by Russian news channels about the alleged transfer of a batch of new Su-35S fighters to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"Despite the fact that Russian propaganda exalts this as a great achievement, they produce and transfer units of aircraft.
That is, we are talking about 3, 5, 4 different aircraft. But as strategic aviation – Tu-160, Tu-22M3, in general, in the best case for them, they can repair it, but they cannot produce it, add it at all“, said Romanenko.
He assured that now the sanctions have a very significant impact on the defense production of the aggressor country, including the Russian aviation industry.
Romanenko also recalled that the quality of Russian aircraft was questionable even before the sanctions. As an example, he gave India, which refused a batch of Russian Su-30s, since the machines did not meet the declared characteristics.
"And now the Russians barely sold them to Ethiopia. That is, there the question was to sell them at any price. So we do not follow Russian propaganda. They have, to put it mildly, serious problems with the production of aircraft, Romanenko summarized.
Russian aircraft
UNIAN recalls that on March 31, "Rostec" published a message that the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) had handed over Su-35S fighters to the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation. The number of aircraft transferred is not mentioned, but judging by the video and official reports, it can be assumed that we are talking about at least two combat aircraft.
Such an aircraft is a typical Russian multi-role fighter of the 4th generation. This is a deeply modernized version of the Soviet Su-27.
Just yesterday, a Tu-22M3 strategic bomber crashed in Russia. From such aircraft, the Russians launch supersonic Kh22 missiles. The disaster occurred yesterday in the Irkutsk region. Military expert Roman Svitan expressed the opinion that this happened due to a technical malfunction of the aircraft.
According to him, this is a very unsuccessful Soviet aircraft, since its crew members often die or remain disabled due to technical problems. These aircraft "keep afloat" thanks to spare parts of nodes, units on other boards, the military expert emphasizes.
