The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US special envoy Steve Witkoff lasted three hours and was constructive. This was announced by the Russian head of state's aide Yuri Ushakov, quoted by TASS and “Reuters, BTA reports.
According to Ushakov, during the meeting in the Kremlin, the two sides discussed the possibility of resuming direct negotiations between Moscow and Kiev.
“The conversation allowed Russia and the United States to further bring their positions closer, not only on the issue of Ukraine, but also on a number of other international issues,“ he emphasized.
Ushakov added that Moscow and Washington plan to continue their active dialogue.
The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, who also attended the meeting, said on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that progress is being noted in the negotiations between Putin and Witkoff.
