Starbucks Corporation has submitted applications to the Federal Intellectual Property Office (Rospatent) for registration of 14 trademarks in Russia. This was reported earlier by "Vedomosti".
As the newspaper writes, these are marks for classes 21, 30, 35 and 43 of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS) - for instant coffee, preparation of beverages and foods for on-site consumption, administration of loyalty program and others.
The company wants to register the brands Starbucks, Starbucks coffee, Starbucks cappuccino, frappuccino and others under this classification, the publication notes.
In March 2022, the coffee chain Starbucks announced that it was suspending all business activities in Russia, including the delivery of products in the country. Then the company announced its decision to leave the Russian market. The assets of Starbucks were acquired in partnership by restaurateur Anton Pinsky, businessman Timur Yunusov (Timati) and the company Sindika, launching the chain of Stars Coffee cafes.
