“Bulgaria and Azerbaijan are long-standing partners and the connectivity between our two countries is of strategic importance. Tourism is one of the sectors in which we see untapped potential that can be realized through joint initiatives and projects. We are working to strengthen the ties between our tourism industries and to promote Bulgaria as an attractive destination for Azerbaijani tourists“. This was said by the Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh at a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria H.E. Dr. Hussein Huseynov.
During the meeting, specific steps to encourage tourist flows between the two countries were discussed. Among them is the possibility of organizing presentations of the tourist destinations of Bulgaria in Baku and Azerbaijan in Sofia in 2025. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of the direct air connection between Sofia and Baku for the development of bilateral tourism.
H.E. Dr. Hussein Huseynov emphasized the benefits of deepening tourism contacts between the two countries: “Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have strong potential for tourism development. We are convinced that joint initiatives and support for transport connectivity will lead to positive results and facilitate travel between our countries“.
