A man received a ticket for a violation in Sofia, without the car leaving Plovdiv. How did this curious case come about, will he have to pay and what is the explanation of the Center for Urban Mobility?
„On December 17, I was surprised to find that I had a letter in the mail that I parked illegally on October 15 on 8 December Street in the capital. I have another car that I drive, this one has been in a garage for years. The penalty is 20 leva, but tomorrow it could be 200 and 2000 leva. There is no signature or stamp on this ticket. Nothing proves that this is an original document. The Center for Urban Mobility explained to me that I should write an email and based on it, a complaint should be filed. They told me that the car's license plate number was wrong. After a few days I called to check what had happened and was told that I was neither the first nor the last and that I would have to wait. The ticket was supposed to go to the Sofia Municipality and then they would cancel it,” Vladimir Lazarov said on Nova TV.
Sofia Urban Mobility stated that after a quick check it was found that a technical error had been made when writing the vehicle registration number. They added that they apologized for the misunderstanding and the issued ticket would be canceled.
