A domestic cat saved a child from a fire in a residential building in Nova Zagora. He was only on the third floor of the house. The fire started around 2 p.m. on February 13. While the 12-year-old child was sleeping, a short circuit ignited the dryer and washing machine, reports bTV.
The cat starts scratching and pushing the door of the room. The child wakes up and this saves him. He manages to call 112.
The firefighters who arrived on the scene managed to get him out of the building with the help of a special mask that supplied oxygen, as the floor was heavily smoky.
The incident has been resolved. The rescue operation is led by the chief of the fire department. Thanks to the quick actions of the firefighters, there were no victims or injuries.
The fire destroyed white and black appliances, window frames and 200 sq. m. of smoke-filled walls. The building was saved.
