That is why they are stopping at nothing and using the entire arsenal of the institutional and underworld – pressure, threats, promises, protections.“ - believes the leader of Spasi Sofia, Boris Bonev.
Spasi Sofia reminds that months ago they pointed out 5 key battles that will determine where the city's huge financial resources will be directed – whether they will be used to build streets, parks and kindergartens, or will they end up in the deep pockets of random people. “We are loudly saying that not only a transparent competition for a chief architect is needed, but also a change in the rules so that overbuilding is expedited. Interests worth billions are at stake in the construction of buildings alone. You remember very well that Spasi Sofia stood against the construction of the largest skyscraper in the center of our city - on "Opalchenska" Street - Boris Bonev is categorical.
According to him, Spasi Sofia is also working to return part of the garbage collection to municipal hands, but the media is already saying that Taki's companies have set their sights on winning the entire order for over 1 billion leva. “We also fought the battle with the private bus operator, to whom the economic majority secured a new contract for 150 million leva. We are conducting a consistent operation to tear Sofia from the tentacles of the octopus and that is why they have directed their entire machine against us.“ – stated Boris Bonev.
According to him, the arrest of the only deputy mayor of Spasi Sofia is imminent under completely fabricated charges. “Compare the interests of billions with the one bike lane, for which I claim that every last penny has been invested according to the rules! A bike lane against the backdrop of appointed directors of companies with billion-dollar budgets, open lobbyists in favor of private companies, highways on paper... They will attack the only person who goes to work by bike, unlike those with luxury limousines and bodyguards.“ – said Spasi Sofia.
The leader of Spasi Sofia is categorical that the government of Sofia is under heavy fire and the response must be more categorical than ever. “The people who voted for us and placed their hope in us that we will free the city from addictions demand this of us.“ – said Bonev, according to whom the current goal is to remove Spasi Sofia. “The next target is Mayor Terziev himself – it is no coincidence that the Supreme Court is dragging out the case in an attempt to influence one decision or another in Sofia.
