"We must move towards a just position and defend just causes. We must orient ourselves towards these basic values. Bulgarian society is on the side of Ukraine in its majority. We must support a peaceful solution and, more specifically, a just peace. We must support a country that is trying to preserve its sovereignty and integrity."

This was what former Interior Minister and former Ambassador to Israel Rumyana Bachvarova told NOVA.

She noted that there is complete confusion and inconsistency of positions in our country after the Donald Trump - Volodymyr Zelensky meeting in the Oval Office. Regarding the president's words that the prime minister is in a "losing position", Bachvarova said that the Great Powers were in a losing position to stop Hitlerite Germany and World War II.

Rumyana Bachvarova recognizes that the problem is that there is no image of this peaceful solution. It is not known what peace in Ukraine looks like from the position of European politics. "Ukraine is part of Europe and is part of our security, because it is like a barrier to Russia," she believes.

"As for domestic politics, her opinion is that the coalition is stabilizing due to the reluctance of any of the parties to go to elections now. "There are people with experience in the government, but they start slowly, but they are capable of greater dynamics. There is a lack of coherence between the subjects, there is some caution in making decisions. Key issues have not been agreed upon in advance - second and third level appointments, for example, said the former interior minister.

"The coalition has enough support to remain, even after the recount, but the very fact that a recount is required means that the election process is flawed and the necessary amendments must be made to the election law," said Bachvarova. According to her, a sign of the collapse of democracy is the weakening of institutions and their replacement with other bodies.
