“The first obstacle facing the government is the budget. After it is our possible admission to the Eurozone. This will be the ultimate argument for preserving political stability with a new horizon. Whether it will be 6 months remains to be seen, but this is a valid argument for preserving the majority”, the director of “Political Analyses and Forecasts” at “Gallup International”, prof. Rosen Stoyanov.
„What has been happening in recent days is an additional demotivation for citizens”, he pointed out.
„The issue with the ballot papers was passed around like a hot potato - everyone was trying to wash their hands of the other, because we have never been in a similar issue before. In this situation, the political parties tried to ride the problem and extract dividends for themselves”, emphasized Prof. Stoyanov.
„If after the Constitutional Court's decision there are changes in the deputy mandates or another party enters, there will not be a sufficient number of people to strengthen the current opposition in its colorful diversity, but they will introduce another exotic element. In this situation, it will become almost impossible for the opposition to overcome all differences in order to unite, so as to question the fallen majority that supports the cabinet,” he said.
“The most difficult thing will be to explain to the voters of these opposition formations what compromise they are making in order to vote equally with parties they absolutely reject,” concluded Stoyanov.
