"Velichy” will be 100% opposition in the National Assembly. This was announced by the party leader Ivelin Mihaylov to NOVA after today's decision of the Constitutional Court, which, according to him, was expected. He applied to be an MP and head the party's parliamentary group, after the data showed that it would enter the National Assembly. Mihaylov estimates that his formation will have 10 MPs.
According to the recalculated data from the Constitutional Court, “Veličie” enters the 51st National Assembly. The new calculations show that the party increases its votes by 59. The recalculated threshold for entering parliament is 97,390 votes, and “Veličie” already collects 97,497 - or 107 votes above the barrier.
“We are 100% in opposition. And that by removing Delyan Peevski from the opposition and rather joining him to the majority. Because today he said that he will firmly not allow huns like us to destroy the parliament and destabilize the country. This means that “Veličie”, MECH and PP-DB” remain in opposition, he added. The chance of supporting anything from the ruling party was zero.
When asked how they would work with “Vazrazhdane”, he replied: “We are not on a family basis with them. The idea is that if there is a common struggle in the name of eliminating the deep state and concentrating on making the institutions work and the state return to its proper functioning, then let the differences show. We should have a common struggle - the fall of the government and the dissolution of this parliament”, is his opinion.
Regarding the criticism that “Vazrazhdane” enters parliament through the back entrance, he said: “When almost all parliamentary groups say this, it shows that it is more of a resistance to having a new player in the National Assembly than any real facts”.
”We are entering parliament after a very big battle. I think Bulgarians have not witnessed such a battle in the last 35 years. I want to congratulate all our like-minded people who fought and believed every day. And we managed to win”, he added.
