Tsvetlin Yovchev: The scandal with Teodora Georgieva is damaging the country's prestige - 1

Former chairman of the National Security Agency Tsvetlin Yovchev commented on the news of the European Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation against Bulgarian European Prosecutor Teodora Georgieva on Nova News. „This scandal is once again damaging the prestige of Bulgaria. There is a negative aspect in all areas. We are not sure whether Teodora Georgieva is on the leaked recording or not. But it is a fact that she has not denied it so far. If there were threats against her from Delyan Peevski, the most normal action would have been to file a report with the prosecutor's office. The European Prosecutor Teodora Georgieva may file a report if she is convinced by the leaked video recording, which is alleged to have been made in the restaurant “Eight Dwarfs” and contains a conversation between her and Petyo Petrov – Euroto. However, if Georgieva was really there - she should resign,” he said.
Two more Bulgarian women are involved in the spy scandal on the island

Two more Bulgarian women turned out to be involved in the Russian spy network in the UK. A BBC investigation found out who they were and how they helped monitor people for the benefit of the Kremlin. According to the British media, Tsvetelina Gencheva and Tsvetanka Doncheva - one from Sofia and the other from Vienna - worked together with six Bulgarians already convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage.

“In different countries, according to regulatory documents, there may be a different classification of agents who are attracted to cooperation”, Tsvetlin Yovchev also pointed out.
According to him, there are several types of agents:

• Obtaining information

• Influencing the development of social processes and attitudes

• Supporting the activities of others

• Residents who lead agent groups

• Carrying out various operations, including sabotage

“The entire group recruited by the cell leader Orlin Rusev does not shine with any professionalism. These are not people who have undergone special training. They have carried out things in a way that is not particularly good. The British services have discovered facts about their activities in a relatively short period of time”, Yovchev also pointed out.
He explained that there are three main components when approaching the attraction of a certain person to cooperation:

• To have operational capabilities – to be able, based on their training, knowledge, skills and position in society – to complete the specified task
• To have the necessary personal qualities
• To assess to what extent this person can be attracted to cooperation and the relationship with him to be sustainable over a long period of time

Yovchev explained that the two women received some material benefits, but their attraction as agents also stems from the existence of intimate relationships with Biser Dzhambazov - one of the Bulgarians already convicted of espionage in London.

The former chairman of the National Security Agency also commented on the topic of the leaked secret chat of the Donald Trump administration. “The scandal is very unpleasant. It greatly damages the reputation and trust in the US regarding the extent to which they can protect classified information”, explained Yovchev.
