Common efforts are needed in the Balkans in the fight against terrorism, illegal migration and extremism, as well as working with young people to counter radicalization on the Internet. This opinion was expressed by the President of the Republic of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska, who participated in Sofia in the international forum "Aqaba Process" with a focus on the Balkans.

"The world is entering a turbulent period," said Gordana Siljanovska. Therefore, joint efforts of the countries in the region are needed in the fight against terrorism, extremism and radicalization.

"The problem is that sometimes, or even always, the mechanisms used by extremists, radicals, terrorists are more sophisticated than those used by states and organizations. Most often, social networks are used", said the President of North Macedonia, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

According to her, work with adolescents is also needed.

In Sofia, Siljanovska thanked Bulgaria for the quick response and assistance in the treatment of victims of the fire in Kochani.

"Mr. Radev was the first president to call me the morning the tragedy happened, offering help of all kinds. Sometimes tragedy gives birth to good, not political, but human", she commented.

Silyanovska said she also spoke with President Rumen Radev about relations between Sofia and Skopje.
