Pollution has been detected in the “Slivnishka“ river near the Kostinbrod village of Petarch, said the head of the Municipal Inspectorate – Kostinbrod Dimitar Georgiev. He said that in the morning, after a report was filed about the white color of the water in the river, inspectorate employees went to inspect it.
The team of the Municipal Inspectorate and the mayor of Petarch have determined that the “Slivnishka“ river near the village is indeed flowing white, an unpleasant smell was felt and there was no life in it. There were fish, frogs and other aquatic life in the river, currently there is no life, said Georgiev.
We went along the river to find out where the pollution is coming from. We have established that the river flows white from the land of Slivnitsa. But we have no authority there, we cannot request documents, investigate and our information goes only so far, said Dimitar Georgiev.
He pointed out that the inspectorate team is still on site and is waiting for the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water (RIOSV) Sofia to arrive on site to inspect what exactly is in the river and what caused the pollution.
