Yannick Syner qualifies for the semifinals of the "Masters" in Monte Carlo, FOCUS reported.
The Australian Open champion eliminated Holger Rune 6:4, 6:7(6), 6:3 in two hours and 40 minutes on Court "Ranier III".
In the first set, the Italian won 89% of the points on his first serve, 56% on the second and broke once. The second part had no breaks and it was a tiebreak. In it, the Dane was more focused, made fewer inaccuracies and tied the score. The third set Syner was 85% effective on the first kickoff, 44% on the second and again made one counter.
Last year the two faced each other, but in the semi-finals and then Rune won with 1:6, 7:5, 7:5. Tomorrow Yannick Siner will play Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek outplayed the Russian Karen Khachanov.
