Klopp: It would be a huge hypocrisy if I took over England

The German said on his farewell to Liverpool that he is taking at least a year off

The former manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, categorically stated that he will not be the new coach of England after Gareth Southgate, Topsport reported.

The German believes such a move would be hypocritical towards the Merseyside giants and their fans.

"Nothing at all. As for work - absolutely nothing. No club, no country. It would be the greatest hypocrisy in the history of football if I said: "I will make an exception for you,", Klopp said when asked about the English national team.

England is currently actively looking for a new coach after parting ways with Gareth Southgate. The former defender led the "three lions" to the finals of the last two European championships.

However, England and Southgate parted ways precisely after the loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Klopp also said at his farewell to Liverpool that he is taking at least a year off.
