Ukraine has detained two people on suspicion of planned sabotage on behalf of Russia, reports "Reuters".
According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), they were trying to blow up a railway line used to deliver weapons to the east for Kiev's war effort.
The detainees - residents of Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, planted an explosive device next to the line in Poltava region in the central part of the country and planned to detonate it remotely. However, they were caught at the crime scene by SBU officers.
So far, Russia has not commented on the case.
"The occupiers hoped to destroy the logistics routes for weapons, ammunition and fuel for the Ukrainian armed forces," the SBU said.
The phones of the detainees were seized and their leader - an employee of Russia's main domestic intelligence agency - the Federal Security Service (FSB) - was identified.
The bomb was supposed to have been detonated during Russian airstrikes that hit critical infrastructure on March 21 and 22.
Last week, Russia intensified its attacks, increasing the pressure on Ukraine even more.
