The Russian MFA accused: The elections in Moldova were the most undemocratic in history - 1

Presidential elections in Moldova, won by the pro-European president Maya Sandu , "were the most undemocratic" in the post-Soviet history of the country, said the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, quoted by Reuters and TASS, quoted by BTA.

Zakharova noted that Sandu's victory, achieved mostly with the support of Moldovan citizens living abroad, showed a "deep division" in Moldovan society.

In addition, she accused the Moldovan authorities of "numerous violations and falsifications". According to her, voting by mail was organized in a non-transparent manner, which allowed for manipulations.

Zakharova added that Moldovan citizens living in Russia were discriminated against compared to those in the West. She noted that only two polling stations were opened for half a million Moldovans in Russia, while over 200 polling stations were provided for approximately the same number of their compatriots in the West.
