Explosions rang out in Kiev after Ukrainian air force declared an airstrike alarm throughout the territory of Ukraine due to Russian missile attacks, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
This is Russia's first major missile attack against Ukraine in the past two months, with Moscow using cruise missiles launched by strategic aviation as well as ballistic missiles, the Ukrainian military said.
"Explosions in the city. Air defense units work. Hide in the bomb shelters," the authorities in the capital Kyiv wrote in the "Telegram" application
There are no reports of casualties, injuries or damage.
On August 26, Russia attacked Ukraine with over 200 drones and missiles, killing seven people and affecting energy facilities across the country. Kyiv then described the attack as "the most massive" since the beginning of the war.
Against this background, the Ukrainian electricity operator "Ukrenergo" announced that there will be power cuts for business customers today due to "significant" reduction in the import and production of electricity.
"Restrictions will be in place throughout the day. In the evening, after the technique is fixed, they will drop out," indicated by "Ukrenergo" also in Telegram.
