US President-elect Donald Trump appointed 27-year-old Caroline Levitt as White House spokeswoman, Reuters reported.

The blonde lady was the spokeswoman for his election campaign and endeared herself to Trump with her fiery defense in interviews and her knack for keeping calm, say advisers to the future president.

„I have the utmost confidence that she will do an excellent job at the podium and help deliver our message to the American people as we make America great again,” Trump said in a statement.

The White House press secretary's job is usually to help inform the American people about the president's activities without betraying his confidence.

The challenge for Levitt will be to convey reliable information and gain credibility among reporters while maintaining a strong loyalty to Trump.

Levitt will be the youngest person ever to serve as White House press secretary. The previous youngest was Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when President Richard Nixon appointed him in 1969.

A native of New Hampshire, Caroline Levitt served as assistant press secretary during the latter part of Donald Trump's first term in 2017. until 2021

When Trump was defeated by Joe Biden in 2020, Levitt became communications director for Republican U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik, who was Trump's pick to be his U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

In 2022 Levitt ran for a seat in the US House of Representatives from New Hampshire, winning the Republican primary. She lost the general election to Democrat Chris Pappas, but that gave her valuable public speaking experience.

She is joining the Trump campaign in 2024. and is the chief spokesman for the president-elect's transition team.

For four years, Joe Biden has had two press secretaries: Jen Psaki and Karin Jean-Pierre.

Trump, a keen observer of his defenders and whether they are tough enough, has had four press secretaries during his 2017-2021 tenure.

They are Sean Spicer, Sarah Sanders, Stephanie Grisham and Kaylee McEnany.
