A plane of the American "Southwest Airlines" (Southwest Airlines) preparing for takeoff at Dallas Love Field Airport; (Dallas Love Field), Texas, was hit by a bullet late last night and had to return to the exit, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the airline.

"Southwest Airlines Flight 2494" was scheduled to depart for Indianapolis, Indiana, when an apparent bullet struck the right side of the plane, just below the cockpit, while the crew was preparing for takeoff,'' an airline spokesman said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

"There are no reports of casualties. The law enforcement authorities have been notified and the plane has been taken out of service," the text says.

From Dallas Love Field Airport told Reuters the security incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. local time (05:50 this morning Bulgarian) and the Dallas police and fire department responded to it.

The passengers were safely disembarked from the plane after the aircraft sustained damage, airport authorities said in a statement, without identifying the airline.

The US Federal Aviation Administration said the "Southwest Airlines" is "Boeing 737-800" (Boeing 737-800) and sustained damage after the bullet hit "near the cockpit". Additional details about the incidents were not provided, Reuters notes.
