Nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump for the post of director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel has fallen victim to an attack by hackers from Iran, reported CNN.
According to her sources, cybercriminals accessed recordings of some of Patel's conversations. The intelligence service informed him of what had happened.
Nominated Nov. 30 to head the FBI, Patel previously served on the White House National Security Council, was an adviser to the acting director of national intelligence, and at the end of Trump's presidency headed the office of the U.S. Minister of Defense.
