American multi-billionaire Elon Musk said that "Reform UK" needs a new leader because Nigel Farage does not have the necessary qualities, BNR reported.
Shortly after Nigel Farage defended Elon Musk in an interview with the BBC, saying that "freedom of speech has returned" after the tech tycoon criticized the British government for its response to gang rapes, Musk's latest post appeared.
A little earlier, however, Farage distanced himself from Musk for supporting the American far-right activist Tommy Robinson, who is in prison for contempt of court. Musk's post on his social media account X today surprised many, including Farage. He founded "Reform UK" in 2018 from the then-existing "Brexit" party and became the leader of the new party before being elected as an MP in 2024.
In the BBC interview, Farage called Musk "a friend" and added that he planned to talk to him about many things, including Robinson. Now, after Musk's post about him, Farage did not hide his surprise, writing on X: "Elon is a remarkable person, but I'm afraid I disagree with him on this. My opinion remains that Tommy Robinson is not right for the party and I would never sell my principles".
