Ukraine to OSCE: Expand investigations into Russian crimes - 1

Ukraine expects the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to expand its efforts to document war crimes committed by Russia, focusing on the deportation of children, the capture of civilians and the fate of the three Ukrainian OSCE employees who continue to be held in Russian captivity, BTA reports.

This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibikha during a briefing in Kiev together with Elina Valtonen, the Foreign Minister of Finland, which has held the rotating chairmanship of the organization since the beginning of the year.

Sibikha stressed the need for the OSCE to also address one of the most heinous crimes committed during the conflict - the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

He indicated that Ukraine would actively use every possible international platform to draw attention to the problems of torture, ill-treatment and murder of prisoners of war.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister expressed hope that Finland would integrate the Ukraine Peace Formula as a guiding principle in the OSCE's work on the conflict.

In addition, the two ministers discussed the expansion of bilateral programs and new initiatives to strengthen international support for Kiev.
