WP: Trump demands resignations from dozens of State Department officials - 1

Dozens of US State Department officials were forced to resign at the request of President-elect Donald Trump's team, the Washington Post reports, quoted by Focus.

This step confirms his administration's determination to separate itself from the political line of the previous government.

Among the high-ranking diplomats who are due to leave their posts on January 20, the day of Trump's inauguration, are Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Jeffrey Pyatt and Acting Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass.

As part of early in his term, Trump announced his intention to sign nearly 100 executive orders that would reverse decisions made by the administration of former President Joe Biden.

Trump also revealed plans to discuss a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which will take place just days after his inauguration.

As part of the conversation, the two will address issues related to the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, Trump promised his supporters to end hostilities in Ukraine and undertake the largest deportation of illegal immigrants in US history.
