Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to Europe during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. He stressed the importance of the continent establishing itself as a strong global player, capable of guaranteeing peace and security for itself and the rest of the world, BTA reports.
In this context, Zelensky expressed the opinion that the European Union should strengthen its efforts to maintain stability and its economic power on the global stage.
Russia's military power and economic risks for Europe
In his speech, the Ukrainian President drew attention to the discrepancy between the economic potentials of Russia and Europe. Although Russia's economy is weaker than Europe's, Zelensky highlighted a worrying fact: Russia produces significantly more military supplies than all European countries combined. This poses challenges to the continent's security and requires strategic actions to strengthen Europe's military and economic defense.
Need for joint efforts for global balance
Zelensky emphasized that in the face of existing global threats, Europe must strengthen its influence in the world order. He called for joint efforts with other democratic powers to preserve peace and stability on the planet, which will lead to significant prosperity on the continent itself.
