North Korea will send a new group of soldiers to wage war against Ukraine "in the next two months". This is reported by the New York Times, citing a senior official of the US Department of Defense.
The publication has compiled a "picture" of how the North Koreans operate on the battlefield in the Kursk region of Russia, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting an operation since August 2024. To this end, the journalists spoke with Ukrainian soldiers and commanders who participated in direct combat with soldiers from the DPRK, as well as with military analysts and four representatives of the Pentagon.
"North Korean soldiers have their own land areas to attack. Unlike the Russians, they move forward with little or no support from armored vehicles. When they attack, they do not stop to regroup or retreat, as the Russians often do when they begin to suffer heavy losses. Instead, they move under heavy fire through fields strewn with mines and send in waves of 40 or more soldiers“, the publication states.
It also emphasizes that when the North Koreans take a position, they do not try to consolidate there, leaving this task to Russian reinforcements, but retreat and prepare for a new attack.
