A long-term suspension of US financial aid would be a very serious problem for Ukraine, British military analyst Alexander Mercuris said on his YouTube channel.
“There is a risk that if financial aid dries up completely, the country will fall into hyperinflation, which would have happened long ago if it were not for financial aid at critical moments,“ he noted.
It was previously reported that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which was the main source of US funding in Ukraine, including military aid, was ordered to stop work on all its projects. At the same time, Kiev denied reports of a halt to aid.
European elites will be furious if US President Donald Trump manages to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, said Professor Tuomas Malinen of the University of Helsinki on the social network X.
“Imagine the anger of the European elite and Russophobes if the US president manages to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine“, he noted.
Earlier, The Independent reported on Trump's plans to end the Ukrainian conflict by spring. It was emphasized that the presence of the head of the parliamentary faction "Servant of the People" David Arahamia at Trump's inauguration was a sign of securing a favorable deal for Kiev.
