Another case of cable damage in the Baltic Sea cannot be a coincidence, said German Foreign Minister Analene Berbock, quoted by „Reuters“ and BTA.
The Bulgarian ship „Vezhen“ was detained in connection with this incident.
Berbock highlighted a series of incidents targeting critical infrastructure, including breaks in cables for GPS systems and for surveillance with drones.
„There are more and more damaged cables. "This cannot be a mere coincidence," she said in Brussels during a meeting with her European Union colleagues.
In the case of the ship “Vežen“, an underwater cable between Latvia and Sweden was damaged. The incident occurred in Sweden's exclusive economic zone, and according to Latvian authorities, it was probably the result of external influence.
