Russian President Vladimir Putin has replaced the leadership of "Roscosmos", it is clear from the decree signed by the head of state, RIA Novosti reports.
"To relieve Yuri Ivanovich Borisov from the post of director general of the State Corporation for Space Activities "Roscosmos", the document states.
Borisov is at the head of "Roscosmos" from July 15, 2022.
The President of Russia appointed Dmitry Bakanov as the new General Director of the state corporation.
The decrees come into force from the moment of their signing.
Bakanov has been the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation since April 2022, and before that he headed the company "Postal Logistics" of the "Russian Post" group of companies. In the period 2012-2019, he headed "Gonets", the unified operator of Roscosmos for communication and relay systems. In 2019-2021, he was the head of the Department for Digital Development of the Ministry of Transport.
